Castle Hill, celtic-Roman settlement

Most recent excavation on the Castle Hill in Bratislava brought to light large celtic settlement structures including some traces of very early Roman building structures. Some houses were built of stone decorated with mosaic floors and wall paintings. Those remains of Roman presence in the Middle Danube area are the ealiest known structures before the frontier was actually demarcated around 40 AD.
