3. International Danube Tourism Conference Linz/Austria, 5-7 December 2012
The conference brought together various stakeholders and target groups concerning the international Danube Cruise tourism, tour operators, local and regional authorities and representatives of relevant Danube institutions and projects, which operate on an international basis in most Danube countries.

Limes Forum Dacia, National Museum of Transsylvanian History Cluj/Romania, 28-29 November 2012
The main objective of the archaeological Forum was to present and discuss the monuments and sites of the individual frontier sections of the Dacian Limes in modern Romania and to establish a Limes working group for a prospective World Heritage nomination.  Presentations about already existing sections (Hadrianswall, Antoninewall, Upper German Raetian Limes) and other Danube Limes nomination dossiers (CE project Slovakia and Hungary) supported the national initiative with information about the nomination process and various lessons learnt in other Limes countries.

DanubeHike – International Hiking Conference, Power Tower Linz/Austria, 19-20 November 2012
The international conference of the DG Enterprise project „DanubeHike“ brought together various stakeholders in the tourism sector from all Danube countries to present already existing touristic offers on the hiking market and discuss opportunities for a more intense cooperation on cross-border hiking initiatives.

7th BPW Danube Net Businesswomen Forum 2012 Vienna/Austria, 16-18 November 2012
Participation in the BPW Danube Net, which is a network for business women with the objective to bring together decision-makers and female entrepreneurs and professionals of this region to exchange know-how and best practices and to introduce to the participants the business and
development opportunities of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

Danube Limes Brand Kick-off Meeting Vienna/Austria, 12-13 October 2012
The kick-off meeting brought together 25 representatives of all project partners to get to know each other and to present and discuss the main project objectives, planned activities and various administrative and communicatiion issues. A  wider audience of  23 potential stakeholders and target groups was invited to follow the individual presentation of the Danube Limes frontier sections and discuss various implications of the project objectives and goals. As a parallel example a representative of the Rhine Limes World Heritage initiative presented the current state of preparatory work in Germany and the Netherlands.

The conference tackled three main topics which where presented and discussed individually: 1. The Danube Region and its Importance for European Macro Regions 2. Regional Cooperations as Key- Factors fort he EUSDR´s Success 3. Potentials and Opportunities oft he Danube Region in Education, Science, Research and Culture

XXII International Limes Congress, Ruse/Bulgaria, 6-11 September 2012
The World´s largest congress on Roman Frontiers Studies, organised every third year in another Limes country brought together 300 experts from 25 countries and 5 continents to discuss the most recent archaeological research results, management principles and presentation issues along the Roman frontiers in Europe, the Near East and North Africa..
